Dr. S. Garimella is currently Director, Institute of Management, Nirma University. His earlier assignments include Professor, S.P.Jain Institute of Management and Research, Mumbai, Director, International Management Institute, Bhubaneswar and Professor and Area Chairman of Marketing Area at International Management Institute (IMI), New Delhi. He holds B.Tech Degree in Chemical Engineering from Regional Engineering College, Warangal, India, M.S. Degree in Chemical Engineering from the West Virginia University, W.Va. USA, MBA from University of Texas, USA and PhD from Osmania University, India. He has carried out research in the area of pollution in coal gasification and coal liquefaction process for Morgantown Energy Research Center, Department of Energy (US Government), Morgantown, W.Va. He has more than fifteen years experience in the petrochemical industry which includes eight years with a startup firm set up for manufacturing downstream petrochemicals.

Dr. Garimella has been involved in management education, training, research and consulting for the past fifteen years. He has conducted several management development programmes for middle and senior executives from several public and private sector organizations. He has also carried out consulting assignments for AP State Road Transport Corporation, AP State Trading Corporation, AP Tourism Development Corporation, Center for Good Governance (GoAP & DFID, UK), AP Urban Services for the Poor (APUSP- GoAP, Dalal- Mott McDonald & DFID,UK) and Revenue Department, GoAP.

He is passionate about entrepreneurship and has attended several courses for entrepreneurship educators including Entrepreneurship Educators Colloquium for Participant Centered Learning (EECPCL) at Harvard Business School and Entrepreneurship Educators Certificate course (EEC) conducted by NEN, Stanford University Ventures Program (SUVP) and Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore (IIMB) and Experiential Classroom Teaching at the Oklahoma State University. He was actively involved in developing an entrepreneurial ecosystem at IMI and mentored several start-up firms in New Delhi as part of IMI’s outreach program. He was also advisor to the Foundation for MSME Clusters and faculty advisor to National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN). He has taught in the Foundation and Advance Programs for Entrepreneurship Educators organized by National Entrepreneurship Network.
